Jacob’s Ladder is a film that made a big impact on me. It was the first time that I saw a make-up that really tricked my eye into believing what I was seeing was done with the camera and not an effect.

Gordon Smith of FX Smith was the man responsible behind the effect. The original makeup was sculpted by the now very famous Evan Penny. Clearly this make-up also had a great impact on Evan as his work continues to bare it’s influence.

This is simply my homage to the guys that really taught me how to see the world differently.
